Driven by Insight. Grounded in Impact.
We’re a women-led research consultancy partnering with mission-driven teams in health, fitness, education, and social impact. We bring curiosity, clarity, and conviction to every engagement — because we care deeply about the work our clients do, and the people they do it for.
Why We Do This Work
We’ve spent our careers helping teams make better decisions—not by adding noise, but by asking the right questions and delivering insights that move companies forward. AI and automation touch nearly every facet of modern work—and while we leverage them heavily ourselves, data without empathy falls flat.
What sets Proof and Pattern apart is our heart: we layer rigorous, tech-driven methods with genuine human connection so every recommendation honors the people behind the numbers.
We founded Proof and Pattern to be strategic, endlessly curious partners deeply invested in your success. We care about what works—and, more importantly, who it works for.
Meet The Team
Vanessa Walters
Co-Founder | Research & Strategy
Vanessa brings more than 15 years of experience turning research into product momentum. With a background in behavioral insight, UX, and strategy, she’s led initiatives for brands like Anytime Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, and Vi Labs — helping teams validate ideas, optimize experiences, and make faster, more confident decisions.
Her work spans concept validation, longitudinal studies, usability testing, and large-scale research operations. She’s worked closely with product, design, and marketing teams to ensure that insight doesn’t get lost in translation — and that research is always tied to action.
Whether she’s mapping user behavior or advising on product direction, Vanessa is known for distilling complexity into clarity — and making sure research actually drives results.
Lindsay Lamb, Ph.D.
Co-Founder | Evaluation & Impact
Dr. Lindsay Lamb has spent more than 15 years helping education systems, nonprofits, and public agencies measure impact and improve outcomes. At Austin ISD, where she spent nearly a decade, she led district-wide evaluations focused on social-emotional learning, teacher effectiveness, and student experience.
She’s also contributed to national research and consulting projects spanning early literacy, mental health systems, college access, and racial equity. She brings a systems-level lens to her work, grounded in both qualitative depth and quantitative insights.
Known for her rigor, empathy, and clarity, Dr. Lamb translates mixed-method complexity into insights teams can use — and act on.
